I Have Discoloured Teeth And My Gums Are Weak. I’m Not After A Hollywood Makeover, I Just Want To Know What Can Be Done?

Q.
Hello Andrew. I am in my fifties and I have discoloured greyish teeth. I also have quite a lot of metal fillings and three crowns, one of which is in the front and does not match in colour or shape to my other teeth. My teeth and gums are quite weak. I have tried to have improvements carried out by my dentist but they have not worked out that well. I have lost all my confidence and don’t know where to turn to. I would like to have a nice smile with normal looking teeth. I’m not after a Hollywood makeover. I would like to know what can be done, have trust in the people doing it and what the end result would look like.

Hello and thank you for getting in touch. I’m sure it’s not too difficult to get fixed up, I would ask friends or relatives for a recommendation to a local dentist who can help you out. Or you could consult a few different dentist and see who you feel most comfortable with and get them to show you previous case studies of their work. You can also search this website for information on the various treatments available. Kind regards, Dr Andrew Moore.
