I Have Brown Stains On My Teeth As I Smoke And Drink Coffee. What Can I Do To Get Rid Of Them?

Q.
Hello Dr Moore, I currently have brown stains on the front of my teeth that are ingrained on the lines where my fillings have been put in and from smoking and drinking tea/coffee, is there a way to remove them? They are very ugly and noticeable and making me not want to smile any more at all! Can you help me with this? They are horizontal brownish lines and on four of my teeth every time I smile I can see them. If there is a way to fix them how much would it cost and what solutions could there be? I smoke around about five cigarettes a day and drink quite a few cups of tea and coffee daily!

Hello and thank you for your enquiry. I would suggest that your first port of call is to try and get yourself a Hygienist appointment to discuss which type of treatment you may need.  You should consider quitting both smoking and drinking coffee as they will only contribute further to the degradation of your teeth. Best wishes, Dr Andrew Moore.
