I have big teeth gaps I want to close. What treatment can you recommend me?

Q. i have big teeth gaps i want to close,
A. Dear Enquirer, In order to close gaps between your teeth, you have the option of braces or you may be suitable to have porcelain/crowns placed. I would advise that you seek a cosmetic dentist who will be able to advise you of all your treatment options. Kind regards, Sunita

Yahir Says :

I have a large gap inbetween my front teeth, its been there all of my 29 years but i would like to look at the options of having it fixed or even justimproved. I also think i have some gum disease as i do bleed a little whenbrushing and i have slight stains on my teeth. I also need a clean from aHygenist. I haven’t seen a dentist for a while as i have a stupid irrational fear but i now need to show an example to my son who has just turned 4 and not let him see my fear.

Deborah Says :

Hello, I wish to enquire as to whether any kind of temporary orthodontic treatment is available to solve my front tooth gap. I had ordinary braces atone point and afterwards, was told to use retainers every day and night forsix months, eventually reducing to just at nightime. Unfortunately, I lostmy retainers several times, and consequently, between moulds for new ones,my teeth moved and now there is a half a mm gap between the two front ones. Although this may only sound very minor, I am upset as my once perfect teeth (which overall took two years to complete) are now slightly gapped. I cannot afford ordinary braces again (quoted at A31400). I am enquiring as to whether there is a ‘one-off’ or very temporary treatment available to close the gap? My teeth move EXTREMELY quickly.

i have a big ole gap between my front teeth, which causes me to feel very embarrassed and uncomfortable in my own skin. I would really like to get the gap closed, but don;t have a massive amount of money. I was wondering if the inman aligner was able to close gaps like minea and what is the price generally. I have saved about £1000 but i am not sure whether this will be enough. If it is not is there anything i can do to gradually pay off the rest of the money needed? it would be really great if you had any advice thank you

Janelle Says :

Two of my front teeth did not grow which resulted in a large gap in my front teeth. I had lots of work done when I was a teenager however the skin between my front teeth was left and over the years my gap has returned. The skin regularly gets sore and inflamed and over the years as my gums have receded so I now get food stuck under the bridge. I have been on anti depressants for many years and will constantly cover my mouth. I do not smile because I think everyone is looking and laughing at me. My dentist will not help as he says it is cosmetic and will cost thousands. I do not have thousands and feel if it had been done properly when I was younger I would not have this issue now. Is there any way I can have my teeth corrected without paying out thousands? I am getting desperate now and turn 40 very soon and would love to be able to have the confidence to come off anti depressants and lead a normal life.

Moving teeth is often a sign of instability , gum problems or bite forces are common causes in adults. You should see a dentist for a diagnosis of the cause before trying to correvt the movements. Hope this Helps

Josue Says :

hello would you be able to tell me whether the inman aligner would be a good brace for my case? I have multiply gaps between my top teeth, which have just gradually appeared over the years and my teeth look small and strange because of this. I have been looking at lots of different treatment and someone even suggested veneers, but I hear that you have to have some of your teeth shaved down for that and I really do not like the sound of that at all. Can the inman aligner close gaps between teeth and what is the usual cost for this treatment? thank you

October 5th, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Cindy Says :

Most likely the gaps are due to your lower teeth hitting the lingual (tongue side) of your upper teeth. Veneers could be a good option and they now can use a no prep or minimal prep technique that preserves most if not all your natural teeth.

I have a large eye tooth that looks like a fang and quite a large tooth that sits behind that tooth, the other side isn’t too bad, but I won’t smile! I have quite a few gaps where I’ve had teeth removed in the past. what can I do? my teeth were checked in january 2011 and are healthy ! thanks would I need a brace or to have the offending fang and back tooth out and have a bridge?would it cost a lot of money? I am 55 yrs old?

October 5th, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Johana Says :

You’d start off off thinking of using brace, if you’re not suitable removal of the teeth and placement of implants and veneers can offer a quick solution although this is normally more expensive.

Deandre Says :

Hi I have porcelain veneers but my teeth have moved forward since I got them. Could i have Invisalign fitted or do my veneers disqualify me?

October 6th, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Shayne Says :

Hi I presume if they have moved forward some slight spaces between the teeth have opened up. In which case Invisalign would be great for this as we don’t need to attach anything to the teeth. If there is no space then we may need to create some depending on your requirements, but this may be possible by moving some of the side teeth very slightly. I would suggest your see an Invisalign expert to decide your best way forward. Please be aware you will require some long term retention after the teeth have been brought back to stop this recuring. Good luck!

im wanting my teeth straightened in just 4 months and it is for a gap between my two front teeth, Do you think i will be able to have the straight smile i want in this amount of time? What would it cost for me to have this treatment for this amount of time? Also do i have to wear the brace at night for the rest of my life to keep my teeth straight? or is there any other way of stopping the teeth going back to where they are now? Any info or advice you can give doctor would be really, really amazing! thank you

October 14th, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Darion Says :

Hello there this might be possible but as always I cannot tell unless I actually see you. We can only close gaps if your teeth are proclined- and we are looking to drag them back. You will need a retainer – either a wire bonded to the back of your teeth or a clear retainer to use at night- permanently. No orthodontics is stable- retainers are always required

Hello, i have been having trouble with my teeth every since i had one of my canines knocked out during a game of rugby. I didn’t actually realise it has come out, due to my involvment in the game, so i wasn’t able to have it put back in again. anyway, because of this my teeth have started moving slightly and a gap is starting to appear between my front teeth. DO you think my best option is to close the gaps with braces and is invisalign able to do this? thanks

November 17th, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Zayne Says :

Braces are a good option to close gaps in between teeth. In some cases white fillings or veneers can be placed to close spaces but it really depends on each individual case. I would recommend a consultation to find out which is the best option for you.

hello i wondered if you could help me understand the best treatment for my teeth. I have a big gap between my front two teeth and a bit of a crooked bottom set of teeth. i am getting desperate for treatment as my smile is just horrrible looking and i try my best not to draw attention to it, but you got to take at some point during the day and keeping your hand in front of your mouth is kind of weird and rude. Do you think the inman aligner could solve my problems? thanks

November 17th, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Barbara Says :

It could be a possibility but it depends on the severity of the crowding/spacing. There are many other options available if the Inman aligner is not for you. I would recommend a consultation and also look at lingual braces, clear braces, six month braces and damon braces.

could you please tell me the general treatment time for gaps with invisalign? and would it be better and quicker for me to have treatment with fixed braces instead? thank you

November 22nd, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Moshe Says :

Hi, This question is very difficult to answer without a clinical and radiographical examination. Your timescales and treatment suitability is very much dependant upon the size of the gaps you have to begin with. My advice would be to go for an Invisalign Consultation and request, if possible, to see cases similar to yours that the Invisalign Doctor has completed. From there you will be given more of an idea as to your suitability and potential timescales to aid your decision making. Best wishes

is is possible to make my gapped teeth stright with the inman aligner? Its just a daily embarrassment to smile and generally i just cover my mouth, but i can’t do that all the time, and i can just sense that people are recoiling because of my smile. The main problem is that my teeth are too small, and therefore loads of gaps have been left inbetween, giving me a horrible gappy smile. Do you think that the inman aligner is my best option to treat this, or should i look to other avenues of treatmetn? thank you

November 22nd, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Kareem Says :

Hello The Inman Aligner can close gaps but only if your teeth stick out (or are proclined) If they are not and are upright, then it is not suitable. Hope this helps

i have a gap in my two front teeth which is around 2/3mm. is there a way to remove this, a fast way without using a brace? and how much around is the surgery? i have looked into a brace and im now at the age of 19 and i dont want to be wearing a brace plus ive been told it might not remove the gap completely anyway. im up for looking into any kind of surgery and the money isnt really a problem too.. i just hope i can remove the gap, it doesnt bother me if i have it or not, just feel more confident without it in my teeth as would alot of people i imagine. thanks

November 25th, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Katlyn Says :

I don’t think surgery is an option but veneers might work well, its usually the best alternative to braces for a small gap like yours.

Hi there! It depends on the size of the gap and the position of the adjacent teeth. It is possible to successfully close spaces with Invisalign but there are a lot of factors to take into account. Other times a single implant may be a better option. The best thing to do is to visit an experienced Invisalign provider and discuss all the possible options. Best of luck

if you want to avoid stripping the enamel between the teeth then you have to make space towards the back of the arch before the front teeth can be straightened. This in total takes about 12-15 months

January 27th, 2012 at 08:47 PM

If your teeth look very small there may be a number of reasons. It may be that your tooth size is small or it could be that they are covered too much by your gum tissue. Making them look larger may be as simple as reshaping your gums to expose more tooth.

I had braces fitted at 18 yrs old, and before fitting the braces the orthodontist insisted he remove an upper tooth from either side of my mouth to ‘make room’. Im now 34 and the gaps never closed up.
