Dear Enquirer,
If your teeth are loose, your teeth can still be crowned but the teeth themselves may not last if the supporting bone continues to wear away due to gum disease. However if your teeth still feel sturdy, then maybe you should try getting a second opinion from a cosmetic dentist. They will need to take x rays to determine if the teeth are affected by gum disease or not. We like to place crowns on patients’ teeth where we know that the results will last many years, so it is important to assess that your supporting tissues are strong enough to hold your teeth and the crowns on top.
I hope this helps,
Sunita
