I have bad tooth ache from the molar crown I had fitted last week, is this normal?

Q. Hi. I had a molar crown fitted last week. I am now suffereing from tooth ache, mostly at night. My teeth around the crown feel “tight”, a bit like the crown is too big and is pushing my other teeth. Is this normal and will the pain ease in time?,
A. It might be an infection under the crown or the crown is too tight or high in the bite, either way ask your dentist to take another look.

I had a temporary crown fitted 2 weeks ago and had constant toothache apparently the crown was over extended so went to emergency dentist who prescribed antibiotics for gum infection. The next day I went to my dentist who removed and put another temporary crown on. I had constant toothache from the moment I left the dentist and since the beginning have been on 6 to 8 iburpofen a day. I went back to the dentist yesterday complaining of toothache the crown had arrived and he fitted it. 2 hours later the toothache started again. I think it is coming from the the second tooth from the back. Should I be in pain. I am still taking antibiotics and ibuprofen?

I have been suffering with toothache whenever I eat or drink anything hot. I visited my dentist and had the first stage of root canal treatment. This did not work as I was still suffering the same painwhen I was able to eat after the numbness wore off. Another visit to my dentist and she was more thorough this time and thankfully I was left pain free. However this only lasted for 3 days. Now I have the pain back again whenever I drink or eat anything hot.. My 2nd appointment is not for another 8 days. Is this normal or should I go back tomorrow to see my dentist

It’s unusual but not uncommon. I’d go back to your dentist and maybe ask for a referral to a root canal specialist (an endodontist) if problems persist Best wishes

Hi, a couple of months ago the middle of one of my molars fell out, including the inside edge. No doubt this was due to rotting and 5 years of putting off a filling I was in need of. I had minor toothache now and again but now I’m getting pain much much worse, its hard to bear and from the pulsating it feels like an exposed nerve. Usually kicks off when I inhale through my mouth, naturally, when I eat on it, or for no reason. What operation needs to be done? Also any idea of cost? Sadly, I just hit 19, but I’m a student and I only have one parent who receives benefits, I heard I may get some cost relief. Thank you for your time.

You need to find an NHS dentist and go for an examination.
