I have a gummy smile with small teeth .i’ve bee adviced by a dentist to undergo surgery (to reduce maxillary height) but due to many reasons i prefer veneers .So in my case, is it possible to place veneers over gums & would it last long?or should i just go ahead with the surgery?

No to make your teeth look bigger you will have to have the surgery done it’s called crown lenthening. If you place veneers on your teeth now they will look exactly the same as they do now.
