I’m sorry you have a dry socket – it is not nice to get at all.

There are some factors as to why some patients get dry sockets and a common on is smoking. However, sometimes patients get dry sockets for no real reason at all.

The pain will go away if you continue with your antibiotics and visit your dentist regularly so they can continue to dress it with Alvogel (iodine dressing). When you are at home ensure you keep the area really clean, do not poke at it and rinse at least 7 times a day with warm salt mouthwash.
