I Hate The Gap Between My Two Front Teeth And I Want It Fixed. What Should I Do?

Q.
Hi Dr Moore. I am 19 years old and I have a gap in between my two front teeth, but apart from that my other teeth are virtually perfect. I hate the way my teeth look so much, because of my gap (it’s caused by one of my front teeth being crooked). I really want this one tooth sorted out so that I can smile with my teeth for once! What should I do? I was never advised to get braces when I was a child because my dentist thought my gap would close as I got older. Please, I hope you can help and give me any advice, many thanks.

Hello. It sounds like a brace of some sort would be the best course of action to take. You could maybe find a local cosmetic dentist who offers adult orthodontics for a solution. As you only need a slight correction you treatment time should be shorter than with a traditional brace system. Have a look through this website at the various pages on the different types of braces and see if one sounds best for you. Good luck with this. Dr Andrew Moore.
