I had my teeth whitened eighteen months ago, but now they might need brightening again. Will home trays work on my veneers and crowns?
Q. Hello Doctor, I had my teeth whitened about 18months ago and had 2 veneers and 2 crowns put in to match the colour. I feel that they may need brightened up again but i’m afraid to do it in case they then don’t match the veneers and crowns, which I have heard will not go whiter with the whitening trays. Is this true and what can I do please?,
A. Thank you for your enquiry.It is quite normal for your teeth to relapse in shade after tooth whitening. I would recomend you get some home trays made by your dentist if you haven’t already got any and then then whiten your teeth at home it should only take a few days to get the same result you had. I recomend the home trays as you can control the whitening and stop when you are happy with the result.
