Q. Hello I had a serious car accident whilst on holiday in Turkey. In brief, I had jaw surgery and was wired for more than 4 weeks. The wires have been removed now. Its been like 6 weeks now since i had jaw surgery. I also had broken/chipped teeth because of the accident. My questions are: 1. How long should I wait to get my teeth sorted – to get veneers? 2. Should my travel insurance be responsible for my broken teeth as well? If yes, how do deal with insurance payments? Hope to hear from you soon
A. The teeth affected should be checked that the nerves inside are alive ( vitality test). If they are are not the teeth should have the nerves treated and then all the damaged teeth restored with either white fillings, veneers or crowns depending on how severe the damage is to each tooth. I cannot help you with the insurance issue – best advice is to contact them directly to find out if your policy covers you.
