I had a bad experience with a dentist and now my teeth are in need of help, what can I do?

Q.
i have very bad teeth i am 23 years old and my teeth are very squint and most of them are either cracked or completly buckling this comes from a fear of the dentist after a traumatic experience as a child but i am now getting depressed and i rarly smile or talk without covering my mouth i would like to ask for your advice on the best way forward
A.
Dear Enquirer,
You poor thing. Firstly, you are only 23 and have your whole life ahead of you and I would recommend you find a caring dentist that is able to empathise with you and in turn you can feel comfortable with.
Nowadays cosmetic treatments can be done very easily and within a couple of visits, in some cases.
Sometimes we carry an emotional reaction to a bad experience we had as a child well into adulthood. I myself, would you believe was a culprit to a very uncaring dentist in my childhood, but am able to have treatment without any problems as an adult.
Dentists’ training is far better now and with the new techniques available, you will have a much better experience.
If you are in the London area, do book an appointment with me and I will be more than happy to assess you and guide you to the best way forward. My practice number is 0208 5674344.
It’s a new year so in 2011, make it happen for you and get your confidence to find a dentist that can help you.
Regards,
Sunita
