I feel unfairly treated by my dentist, can you give me some advice?

Q. I just lost my four front crowns along with my original teeth in an accident, i am left with the four top nerves exposed now and the NHS dentist gave me a denture for now and then told me i would have to raise £10,000 for implants which is never going to happen as i am not working, i am in pain and can barely eat with or without the dentures in and my speech is not the same either. I feel unfairly treated by the dentist and would like some advice please on what to do next?,
A. NHS dentistry should sort out the exposed nerves, and reasonable dentures. If the roots are extracted the bone changes shape which is not the fault of the dentist. You can expct to need a replacement denture after 6 or 12 months. IF you pay charges then a second fee applies. If you are not happy with this aspect you may complain to the NHS via the primary healthcare trust in your region or contact your practice which must have a formal complaints procedure. NHS dentistry does not have available funding for the general use of dental implants so you will not be able to pursue that aspect. Hope this helps Regards Rob
