I Feel A Throbbing Pain Ever Since My Crown Was Put Back In. Do You Have Any Idea Of What The Problem Might Be?

Q.
Hello Dr Hughes. I’d like your help and advice if it’s not too much bother. My front crown, which is about 8 years old, it fell out and my dentist stuck it back in. From then it hasn’t felt quite right. I am having a throbbing pain in it. Is the nerve still alive when you have a crown put? I am also getting root canal treatment on three molars not had them crowned yet but this hasn’t given me a lot of pain just the normal, after this type of treatment. All the pain is in my front crown. Do you have any idea of what the problem might be? Thank you for your time.

Hello and thank you for writing in. It’s difficult to say without seeing you in person but from what you’ve explained it may need a root canal treatment also. Ask for an examination and advice from your dentist as soon as possible. If you’d like further information on root canal treatment you can find it through this website with a simple search. I hope this helps. Regards, Mark.
