I Am Unhappy With My Whitening Treatment.

Q.
I had my teeth whitening done by my dentist with custom made trays & home kit, I was told to use it for 4 nights overnight, I done this using 3 of the 4 syringes that were given to me and I am so unhappy, the bottom of my top teeth have whitened much more than the top part of my teeth (near the gum) my dentist said this is normal and that whitening will not change the whole colour of my teeth, at £400 I feel gutted I have not got the result I thought I would get and don’t know what to do? Please could u give me some advice
A.
The level of whitening that teeth reach cannot be predicted beforehand and having only bleached for 4 nights you may not have reached the full potential that your teeth can reach yet. If the jaws have produced different results then why not whiten the darker one for a few more days and see if they start looking closer in colour. An ‘exact’ match may not be possible to achieve and may have something to do with the inherent structure of your teeth.

Please go back to your dentist to discuss your concerns and I am sure they can offer advice about how to achieve the best result possible for your teeth.

I advise all my patients that it may take months of occasional bleaching to achieve the very best results after an intensive period of bleaching initially that is usually over 2-4 weeks, depending on the patient and how they started out.

Kind regards
