I am smoker in France my front teeth seem to be spreading apart

Q. Hi, I am a 49 year old smoker who now lives in France, however I am about to be back in the UK for a month, my front teeth seem to be spreading apart from the 2nd ant both sides (not the centre) is there any way I can get them put back together or the gaps filled as it is now becomming quite unsightly and looks like I have a tooth loss either side of the front two, my teeth are straight otherwise.

A. It sounds like the bone supporting your teeth has weakened this is called periodontal disease and smoking is one of the biggest causes.  I would recommend seeing a good dentist and having the teeth assessed and x-rayed.
