I Am Really Upset As I Paid £3000 For Four New Teeth And They Failed. Do You Think A Bridge Would Be A Good Option?

Q.
Hello Dr Hughes. I hope you can answer my question. Last year I paid for four front porcelain crowns and I was also advised to have root canals which came to a total of £3,600. 3 months later one tooth came out when I was eating. Then, as months went on, all of them had to be cemented back in. The dentist now is replacing them with 4 teeth on a bridge. I am really most upset as 3 years ago I paid £3,000 for 4 new teeth and they failed. Do you think that a bridge a good option? Thank you for your reply.

Hello. I would need to examine you to advise on the options available to you. However unless you are missing teeth it is not wise to ‘bridge’ them together to help the crowns to stay in. They should stay in on their own if the teeth underneath have been prepared adequately or modified effectively to hold the crowns. I would seek a second opinion. Hopefully an experienced cosmetic dentist can help you with this. Regards, Mark.
