I am not happy with the colour of my veneers, is there anything I can do?

Q.
Hello, I had eight porcelain veneers fiited five years ago, although I am very happy with the result of a lovely smile, I now wish that I had had the veneers made whiter than they are at present. Please could you tell me if it possible to have my present veneers cosmetically whitened without having to have new veneers? Also how long should I expect the veneers to last before the set will have to be replaced. My worry is also the longer that they are fitted, what is the possibility that my gums will change and that the veneers will , worst case sceniario fall off, arrgh!? Please could you help. Kind Reagrds,
A.
The porcelain is colour stable and will not change with surface treatments. To change colour you would need to replace them. With good systems the bonding generally lasts > 10yrs. A change in the gumline may expose the margins and affect appearance but would not affect the bonding.
