I Am Confused Whether To Have Invisalign Or Six Month Smiles Treatment To Sort Out My Overcrowded Teeth?

Q.
I would like to push back my upper front teeth and to straighten them too so there’s no overcrowding. I would also like to straighten my lower teeth which are crowded and one tooth protrudes outwards significantly. I have seen an orthodontist and cosmetic dentist but I’m totally confused whether to go with an orthodontist or a cosmetic dentist. One recommended Invisalign the other Six month smiles. One also said they couldn’t push my lower tooth back in line totally due to lack of space. Is there anything that can be done to create more space for a perfect outcome? Thank you.

Hello and thank you for your question. Both the treatments you have been recommended are excellent and work very well. Also each has its merits and limitations. One thing that it is important to establish from both the Orthodontist and Cosmetic Dentist, is what assurances they can give you as to the final outcome. Both should be experienced enough to provide you with this information.

My feeling is that if you are looking for the perfect result, with perfect alignment of all the teeth and with the lowers pushed back, then I would seek treatment from the Orthodontist. The Orthodontist will always be in a better position to offer whatever treatment is necessary to meet with your expectations.

I really hope you find this helpful and I wish you all the very best with your treatment. Kind regards, Marcus Gambroudes.
