How to ensure teeth stay in position after aligining them?

Q. I had dental work done when I was a child as my teeth were over-crowded and crooked. My teeth have now moved slighly, I’m 28 now and I am considering doing a course of the invisalign system as my orthodontist recommended that I can get the results I want from a 20week programme. I’m worried about my teeth moving again after the treatment is complete – is there anything I can do to prevent them moving again in the future?

A. Hi many thanks for your email, the only way to ensure the teeth stay in position once the teeth are aligned is to either have a fixed retainer fitted or wear a removable retainer for at least twice weekly at night. hope this is helpful.
