Have you heard of a ball in the gum that needs to be extracted?

Q.
Hi. i have a gap between my 2 front teeth and im interested in getting lumineers, bcuz it seems painless &’d long lasting. i do have one concern though, i wuz told by a dentist, whom was offering me invisalign, that i have a small ball in between my gap that has to b removed so that my gap doesn’t reopen again. have u heard of something like this? can i not get lumineers bcuz of this?

It sounds like the dentist was referring to the attachment of what we call the ‘frenum’. This is a piece of fibrous tissue in your mouth that can be responsible for causing a gap and also from preventing it’s closure. It may be needed for full orthodontic closure but maybe not to ‘artificially’ close it using a veneer like a Lumineer. Why don’t you ask your nearest cosmetic dental expert for advice?
