Do I need to have an injection when I’m having my braces placed?

Q. …erm… i want to know how much invisible braces is cos i wanted to put normal braces on but i find it really scary and erm… when you put on the invisible braces do they have to give injection to make your teeth num cos when you want to put normal braces they give injection and that is really scary…..FOR ME!,
A. With any orthodontic treatment- ie braces, there is usually no need to have any injections. The placement of the brackets and the wire on your teteh may feel tight initially, but shouldn’t be painful- so that is why anaesthetic is not needed. There are alternative treatments such as invisalign that you can research online. The costs are usually a little more than the fixed braces as they are more discreet. Ideally, you need to discuss all of your concerns with your dentist so that he/she can explore all of your options and help you decide which treatment is best for you.
