Do I have my tooth extracted OR the root canal treatment?
Q. My dentist has given me the option of root canal treatment or extraction on a tooth, lower jaw, back right. The tooth is already heavily filled with amalgam. I am a very nervous patient (terrified more like). Is it worth the pain, possible side effects and cost of root canal treatment for an already heavily ‘filled’ tooth?,
A. It depends does the dentist think that the tooth has a good chance of long life if root filled & crowned? and is the tooth important for function? Rob
