Dentist has said braces cannot help with overbite and not I am to go under gum recession surgery. Any advice?

Q. I am 24 male and i have over bite, I had braces but the doc. said now they braces cannot help anymore i have to go under gum recession surgery.I can share pictures, Any advice??!! Thanks,
A. I would make sure you get an opinion from a specialist orthodontist
