Dental Implants Are Financially Out Of My Reach. Is There Any Way I Can Get My Smile Back?

Q.
I Am 45 years of age and I lost a lot of my teeth through neglect. So I decided to have a mass extraction of about 18 teeth in one go under general anaesthetic through the NHS. I was then given a set of dentures from the NHS. The only time I wear them is when I go to the supermarket twice a week. I have spoken to my dentist about implants but they are financially out of my reach. I have read about your teaching position with the Royal College of Surgeons and I was just wondering if you are looking for potential patients to demonstrate your technique? Thank you.
A.
Hello. The teaching at the Royal College doesn’t really involve live surgery or cases so I don’t think this would work for you. Perhaps a better fitting set of dentures now the gums have shrunk away might help as this might be more affordable? You may also want to consider a clinic which offers some kind of affordable payment plan. I hope this helps. Regards, Dr Andrew Moore.
