Dental implant was hammered in, but was this the correct procedure?

Q. hello i just had two dental implants done for a 3 tooth bridge my dentest drill did not work so he used a metal hammer to hammer them in this has resalted in a lot of pain and swelling please can you tell me if this is correct of him to have done the inplants this way and is there more chance of them failing as not drilled in please talk to me,
