Hello Dr Gambroudes, I’m 16, 17 in January and I really want to get my teeth whitened as I feel self conscious about my teeth as they’re slightly yellow. I don’t want to use a home kit as I don’t want to get it wrong. Would someone at my age be allowed laser teeth whitening? Also what are the disadvantages, how long will it take? Will it be noticeable and how will it cost? Thank you for your time and consideration.
Hi Dr Moore. I currently have brown stains on my teeth and I have just had a polished at the dentists but they are still there. How can I get rid of them? Are there any home treatments I can use? Or do I have to see someone? How much would it cost? Or am I just stuck with them? I drink a tea a lot and fizzy juice but have started to cut down on the juice but still drink tea but with no sugar. If you could help me that would be great as It affects my confidence and I find it hard to smile and talk to people.
Hello Dr Moore, I currently have brown stains on the front of my teeth that are ingrained on the lines where my fillings have been put in and from smoking and drinking tea/coffee, is there a way to remove them? They are very ugly and noticeable and making me not want to smile any more at all! Can you help me with this? They are horizontal brownish lines and on four of my teeth every time I smile I can see them. If there is a way to fix them how much would it cost and what solutions could there be? I smoke around about five cigarettes a day and drink quite a few cups of tea and coffee daily!
Is it possible to have veneered two front teeth only? Also, I imagine it would be a challenge to match them to blend in with the rest my teeth? The front right tooth is half-filled and at the top where tooth meets the gum the enamel is quite damaged, it’s almost scraped and it’s become like a brown dent, gradually extending. Obviously I would think twice if they didn’t quite match up. There’s nothing wrong with my front left tooth though. Any advice would help me greatly? Thank you.
When I was young, I had nice white teeth but as I grew older and my adult teeth came through it began to turn brown! I’ve always taken care of my teeth and I don’t know why they turned brown, but I went to the doctor’s so I could find out what was going on and the doctor advised me that my mum had taken antibiotics whilst she was pregnant with me. I currently have 2 veneers and 4 crowns at the top but my bottom teeth still remains brown. I was just wondering if there was anything that I can do to solve my brown teeth problem!!! Hi, I’m 23 and have a big gap between my front two teeth and then two very small teeth either side, I also have stains (from when I was born) on my front teeth. I am very aware of my teeth and how they look. It knocks my confidence and soemtimes I can get quite down about their appearance which obviously impacts on how I act with people and could potentially be limiting me. I went to my NHS dentist but my dentist won’t give me veneers as he says there is nothing medically wrong with my teeth, I don’t have any fillings. How much is it to go private or can I get this treatment on the NHS? Thank you for your help.
Are porcelain veneers permanent? If no, then how long can one wear it.
is it comfortable to wear them? If no then what are the challenges.
do they have to be removed and washed at intervals? If yes then what are the disadvantages? I have a discoloured teeth as a result of childhood persistent illness. I got this condition due the many drugs i had to be given. Also I got fillings that are permanent.will this have any effect on the veneers?
I am 62 years old and have lost the enamel off my teeth; I have been informed this is due to eating too much fruit.
I am very embarrassed to talk let alone smile, due to the dark colour of my teeth.
I am due to attend a very important wedding soon and I am so worried about my teeth that I am now considering having them whitened.
I do have sensitive teeth and use Sensodyne toothpaste but I believe the whitening process increases sensitivity and am a little concerned about that.

Over the years my front two teeth have started to chip away..there are only a few small chips and I was wondering if it was possible to get them filed down? This doesn’t cause me pain at all, it’s purely for cosmetic purposes really so I am not in need of urgent surgery or anything. If it is possible to get them down how much would that cost roughly?
Also one of my canines is discoloured and the surface is not like the rest of my teeth. It’s bumpy and rough. I’m not too sure what had caused it but is there anything I could do to change the colour and smooth the tooth down?
