After My Tooth Was Extracted I Suffered From Severe Pain Like Lightning Bolts. What Do You Think This Is?

Friday, August 8th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Patel. I had a hole in my tooth and one day I got severe pain like lighting bolts. It came back 3 times. This pain is the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life. I have had the tooth removed but I am scared it could be trigeminal neuralgia. The pain was so bad that I cried. I asked the dentist about this pain but I am not convinced they really understood the amount of pain I had suffered. I have not eaten anything really substantial for 3 weeks now and I am losing weight. I cant go anywhere on my own for fear of this pain. I had my tooth taken out and have not had it since. I am still not convinced it has gone though because it only happened 3 times in 4 weeks. What do you think this is? Thank you for helping in advance.

I Get Embarrassed Whenever I Smile With My Large Front Teeth. I Wonder What Can Be Done?

Tuesday, May 6th, 2014
Q.

Hello Mark. I am 21 years old and my 2 front teeth are bigger than normal ones. I get embarrassed whenever I smile with them and I’ve also got a tooth growing out the top of my gum. I’ve got a couple of bottom teeth that are wobbly too, even though I clean them twice a day and I’m a non-smoker. Also, I’ve got a tooth missing next to the front tooth but the tooth from the gum covers it up. They don’t get any cleaner no matter how much I clean them. I am just wondering what there is to be done as I’m only 21 and it’s not looking good for me in the future? Thank you in advance for any help you can offer me.

I Smashed A Tooth When I Was Younger, I Need Advice On How To Fix My Smile?

Friday, November 8th, 2013
Q.

Hello, I fell down a concrete stair well and smashed my front tooth when I was 9. I have had a lot of work on my teeth over the years and braces as well I have been left with a large crown. That gets infected month after month.  My dentist gave me the option of a tooth on a palate or just take it out and leave a gap in the front of my mouth. I don’t want a gap and a palate would make me sick with the food getting stuck under it and my gum has turned purple and it is shrinking back from the front tooth, my 2 front teeth. Now I have an overbite, I have gaps now in all my upper front teeth due to the work over the year. I have asked for my teeth to be fixed or if not all at least my front crown, the dentist has told me that I would have to be referred and it’s a cost of £2000/£3000 just to get my front tooth sorted, I get NHS credits as well so I don’t pay. I have had to change my Dentist as they just keep giving me antibiotics every month, I don’t not know if the infections is coming off the crown and spreading in my mouth. I get puss filled lumps on the front of my gums and you can see them when I smile. I would just like someone to just help me I sick of the pain and the infections and I would just like a nice simple smile. Thank you so much if you can reply.

Has Chewing Food Caused My Gums To Recede?

Wednesday, July 10th, 2013
Q.

Hello Dr Bohara, I am hoping that you can advise me with something. Is it possible that the gum that surrounds the inner sufaces of the upper molars, at the roof of the mouth, could be gradually worn away or pushed away from the tooth, perhaps caused by years of chewing food?
I am now 40 years old and have very sensitive teeth in this region of my mouth due to the receded gum line and I was wondering what treatment options are available in order to fix or halt this?
The receded gum is on the left side of my face. This is the side that I tend to use most often when chewing food. I have never had any real dental problems until now so I’m not really sure how to go about getting help for this particular issue of mine.Thank you for your help.

My Cerec Was Tightened And Now It Is Causing Major Issues, Help?

Monday, April 22nd, 2013
Q.

Since I’ve had the cerec put in I have awful toothache and it feels like it is set too high. Also there is what looks like discoloration at the gum line a the front. It hurts when I bite down. I am on pain killers to relieve the pain. I have a denture plate that attaches to the cerec and I’m unable to wear it. Originally it was loose and would move around so my dentist tightened it and now it feels very tight. Help.
I am really reluctant to go back. He has said I have gingivitis so I booked an appointment with a hygienist who said my teeth and gums were in pretty good shape .HELP !!!

Is My Toothpaste Causing My Gums To Become Loose And Fall Apart?

Monday, January 7th, 2013
Q.

Hello I bought a new brand of toothpaste and ever since using it,  after brushing my teeth i find that there is a thin layer of loose gum inside my mouth that comes off in chunks. I don’t know if the toothpaste has caused this problem or not but it is the only difference that has occurred in my dental routine. I find this irritating embarrassing and inconvenient as when I am at work I have to keep spitting out the loose fragments that I am finding during the day and sometimes it sticks to the corners of my mouth.

I just wandered if you had any ideas as to what this could be and what is causing it?

Kind regards
