The Gap Between My Veneers Is Getting Bigger And I Sometimes Get A Horrible Smell. Is This Something I Need To Worry About?

Hello,

I had 6 porcelain veneers placed on to my top 6 middle teeth in 2008. I had this done as I had a small gap which I wanted to close.

Fast forward to 2014 and my gap is bigger than it ever was. And my biggest problem is I am worried that the veneers are causing me to have bad breath. I can sometimes get a horrible smell coming from the top of the veneers near my gums.

I floss and brush my teeth twice a day and use mouthwash.

My experience of having these veneers fixed was horrendous and has left me with an extreme fear of dentists.

I don’t know what to do about this. I do not have the finances to have this procedure done again. Please can you help?

My Orthodontist Has Recommended Inter-Proximal Stripping. Will The Gaps From This Be Particularly Noticeable?

Hi Dr Hughes. I am currently wearing a 4-4 fixed clear brace but with a metal wire.
My orthodontist has recommended I get inter- proximal stripping.
I am worried as I am scheduled to have this done on a Thursday but have a rather important social event to attend on the Saturday of the same week. Would you recommend getting the stripping done before or after? I wouldn’t want to walk around with gaps in my teeth before hand? Thank you for taking the time to listen to me.

Hey Dr Moore,  I hope you can help me. I have a few gaps between my teeth but my main worry is the one between my two front teeth about 2mm to 3mm wide. It’s only on my top jaw and I was wondering roughly how much would it cost me to get my teeth bonded and how long would it take? Do you know whether bonding is suitable for all cases? It’s something that has worried me for awhile and I’d really like to get this fixed as soon as possible so braces aren’t really in my thinking at the moment. My Gums Are Receding From Every Tooth. Is It Possible To Have A Gum Graft For Such A Large Area?

Hi Dr Hughes. I am having terrible trouble with my gums receding. It started about 10 years ago but with dental treatment it stopped at a level I could cope with but in the last few months it has started up again and now I would say my gums have receded from every tooth and worse of all this morning my top two teeth now have a small gap between them. I am currently on anti-biotics. I have been reading up on gum graphs but is this possible for such a large area? This is badly affecting my life now as I am losing my self-confidence in public and I hate to smile. I hope you can advise me on what to do? Thank you for your time.

I Get Sensitive Teeth But My Dentist Won’t Do Anything About It. What Would You Suggest I Do?

Hello Mark. I still have all my baby teeth apart from the front two on the top and bottom. I am now 19. They’re not loose, however they are painful. When I eat or drink certain things my teeth send a bolting ice pain that shoots through them and it really hurts. It makes me feel really down about my smile as with them being so small they make my mouth appear ‘gappy’. My previous dentist doesn’t really pay attention to my teeth maybe this is because I was an NHS customer. However now I work full time and I pay but I still don’t receive a service where he will look into the issues I’m having. What would you suggest I do? Thank you for your time.

Hello Mark. I have small gaps in my four front teeth, and my front two teeth have slightly more space than the other adjacent teeth. The two front teeth look bigger than the others when I smile. So what is the best way to fill all the gaps and improve, so I can have a beautiful smile without any risk or side effects. There are no cavities or pains in my teeth. I am a non-smoker and a non-drinker and a vegeterian. However, I take 3-4 cups of tea daily. So could you please advise me on what I could do? Thank you for your time.

Hi Dr Moore. I have a very slight gap appearing between my front two teeth. It’s not noticeable from far away but I know it’s there. I don’t believe there was a gap before. Can you please tell me what this is or why this is happening? What do I need to have done to bring them together again. It’s actually beginning to annoy me. Hi Mark. I would like to find out the cost for the Inman Aligner system. I’ve read up about this and says cost per treatment £1250-£2500?
So for instance if I went along with this, how often would I have go for treatments for example, if I went for 4 treatments could end up paying around £6,000? It’s really for my front teeth which protrude and there are few gaps on upper front teeth. Plus, would this help in closing gaps in my upper teeth? Can you assist with my query please. Thanks.

Is It Possible To Remove A Tooth And Then Fit A Bridge For A Better Appearance And To Boost My Confidence?

Hi Dr Moore, I have a lower front tooth which is set much further back than the other three. Is it possible to remove the tooth and then fit a bridge for a better appearance? Although it is a healthy tooth it is very detrimental to my confidence. Having a straight set of lower front teeth would massively boost my confidence. Braces are far too expensive and because the other three teeth have now closed the gap and pushed it further back I believe it would take years to straighten, if it was even possible.
