Hello Dr Moore. I grind my teeth and I have crown at the front. I also have two false teeth but my crown keeps falling out. I did have a bridge on my three front teeth but I ended up with an abscess and had to have my root removed. I’m of ill health and my grinding is due to stress, it’s a vicious cycle because I’m worried about my health. I was wondering could I get implants on the NHS or if I could just get two for my front teeth and pay up myself? I don’t know how this all works and I’d just like some advice. Thanks.

I Grind My Teeth And My Crown Keeps Falling Out. Could I Get Dental Implants On The NHS?
Tuesday, June 17th, 2014I Recently Had A Front Tooth Crown Fall Out. I Have Since Been Given A Quote By My Dentist For A Dental Implant. How Do I Know If I’m Being Ripped Off?
Wednesday, June 4th, 2014Hi Mark. I recently had a front tooth crown fall out. My dentist told me that the remaining tooth couldn’t be saved, so removed the tooth and I currently have a temporary denture which doesn’t fit correctly and is uncomfortable to wear. I have already been charged £219 for this treatment. I have been given a quote by my dentist for a dental implant, teeth whitening and 3 white fillings (to replace existing metal ones) which I feel is very expensive. How do I know if I’m being ripped-off? I have been told that my only other option is a permanent denture. My fear is that I pay another £219 and find that a permanent denture is uncomfortable to wear. My dentist has given me 1 week to make a decision and I’m not sure what to do?
A Piece Of My Bridge Recently Snapped Off. Is This A Common Problem And Do You Know What I Should Do?
Monday, June 2nd, 2014Hi Andrew. I recently had a bridge fitted it is a two unit bridge. It looks like porcelain bonded to metal. However I broke a piece of the porcelain when it chipped off the metal, I had this fitted at a cost of 1200 euros. I thought it was complete porcelain and was a little shocked to find the metal and I phoned the dentist. They don’t seem very helpful and they kind of make you feel like it’s your fault. Is this a common problem you come across?
Thank you for your help and advice.
I Used To Wear Braces But Now My Teeth Are Moving And Are No Longer Straight. Can I Get New Braces At A Reasonable Price?
Thursday, May 15th, 2014Hi there. I have just turned 27 years old. I used to wear braces when I was in school, the ones with the single mental line, which I could take out and put back in whenever I liked. Due to personal circumstances dental treatment stopped. As the years have gone by especially in the last few years I have noticed they are moving and are not straight. I have a job but I’m receiving working tax credit. I’ve always put dental treatment off due to costs. But now I really want braces as it’s effecting my self esteem. I was wondering what would be the best way to go about getting them at a reasonable price. Thank you.
My Mum Has A Bad Phobia Of Dentists. Can She Get Help From Anywhere?
Tuesday, May 13th, 2014Hi Mark. My mum is 49 and she has got a real bad phobia of dentists due to her brother struggling to come round after having a tooth out as a kid. Now she’s lost most of her teeth and suffering from severe depression and she never leaves the house. She is on benefits. Can she get help from anywhere? I just want her to live her life not hide away. She has never had her photo taken and rarely smiles. She hasn’t been to a dentist since she was 9 years old. Thanks.
I’m Having Second Thoughts About Invisalign. Can I Get My Deposit Back Even After The Moulds Have Been Made?
Thursday, May 8th, 2014Hi Mark. I hope you can help me. I recently went to the dentist to have Invisalign.
I had moulds made of my teeth, and I am waiting for the Clincheck from America to decide if I am happy to go ahead with the process.
I am having second thoughts about the braces. However I have paid a 500 pound deposit that I was told was taken for the moulds, X-ray, etc. I am wondering if I changed my mind could I get the deposit back or have I forfeited it due to having the moulds made? Thank you for helping me with this matter.
I’ve Been Wondering How I Can Get Low Cost Dental Treatment. Do You Have Any Suggestions?
Thursday, March 13th, 2014Hello Dr Moore. I have been having problems with my teeth and some have fallen out and some have been taken out. I feel I am getting nowhere at all it’s one after another and I have lost so much confidence from this and I am scared to smile or laugh loud in company as I feel they will see my teeth. I am wondering how I can go about getting dental treatment at a low cost as I am only in a part time job and not earning enough to pay for the cost at my dentist. Any advice would be greatly received. Thank you.
Is £2000 Too Excessive For A Bridge? Is There Anything Else I Could Have In My Price Range?
Tuesday, March 4th, 2014Hi. My dentist has quoted me £2000 to have a bridge fitted for (2 teeth). This seems excessive. He told me it’s not available on the NHS. I have a gap that is awful and it affects my smile and my confidence. I currently have a false tooth plate with 2 teeth on, but the teeth keep breaking off the plate. I can’t afford this as I only work part-time, I am a carer for my husband. Could you please advise as it’s really getting me down.
