What procedure would be best for straightening and whitening my teeth, and how much would it cost?

Monday, January 10th, 2011
Q.

I am not very familiar with all procedures and prices avaliable, but I have few issues about my teeth. I would need to streight 3 of them, maybe straight the crowns of 4 of them and also I would like them to be whitened (they not in a bad condition). I am 18 years old. What would be the best procedure for me n maybe you could give me an average price I could expect??? Thank you 🙂

My PFM crown had to be filed down to fit, now you can see metal, does it have to be redone?

Monday, January 10th, 2011
Q.

I have just had a PFM crown fitted on a large molar and it sat very high. So much had to be filed away to correct the bite that metal was revealed through in one very small spot (0.5mm) in the front area of the grinding surface. I believe my dentist would redo the crown for me but the pain during prep was intense (even after 3 injections) and I would honestly rather have the tooth removed than have the crown redone. I am not worried by how it looks but am worrried I may have to have a crown redone very soon if it is not sound. Should I leave it and see how long it lasts as it is or would a composite resin patch maintain the integrity of the crown better? (I understand this involves a diamond burr taking more surface away?) so I’m worried even this could thin it further. Any advice greatly appreciated.

please advise as to what a precious and non precious crown is and what it is made of. Also is it possible to do a root filling through an existing porcelain crown and then fill it with amalgam?

My front tooth has been crowned and it has now twisted and changed colour, what could be the reason for this?

Thursday, January 6th, 2011
Q.

I broke a large amount of my front tooth around 10 years ago. I had my tooth crowned. I have now noticed that my crown appears to have twisted, possibly dropped from the gum and changed colour. Is this possible?

My crown has moved, do i need to get it replaced?

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011
Q.

HI Dr Solanki,

I got a crown fitted over 10 years ago to cover over a crooked tooth. It actually looked quite natural and i was happy with it. Unfortunately a few months ago it seems to have moved slightly towards the left, which has left a slight gap between that and my front tooth. This I don’t like and would like it fixed. Would i need to get a whole new crown or could a dentist fill that gap naturally somehow?

Many thanks.

Is there a danger of harmful metals being released from my crowns?

Tuesday, January 4th, 2011
Q.

Hi Dr. Verma I have a complicated question to ask you that has been drilling into my mind since I had the crown fixed 3 years ago, I heard that in all part of europe it is prohibited to use crowns made from a combination of metal fused to porcelain because they can cause mouth or gums cancers because of it`s chemicals release
Think you in advance

I decided to get my healthy tooth veneered after getting a cap for another one. Bit mistake. What can be done to correct this?

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010
Q.

I just had my crown replaced on my front tooth, with a procelin cap,and I decided to get the other healthy tooth next to it veneered. The veneered tooth is thick and bulky and there is a super thick spot in the back of the tooth as well as a slight ledge. My cap is slightly shorter than the veneer, not at all what my teeth looked like. I HATE THEM!!!!! How labor intensive would it be to correct.
