Hi there, I am 18 and I have been going to the dentist for as long as I can remember, when I was 7-10 yearS old I had all of my baby teeth removed due to an addiction to sweets as a child, after that point in time my adult teeth can through. When I as 14 I had to go to the orthodontist to have braces as my teeth were unaligned when they grew through. Ever since I was a young boy I never got into the habit of brushing my teeth, hence having at least 1 filling on each tooth which is what I have now. Even though I myself am very upset and embarrassed about my teeth I still cannot get into the habit of regularly brushing my teeth. I have recently got really bad decay and all of my tooth enamel is gone. I am especially concerned about losing all my teeth by the time I’m 21 and I seriously do not want that to happen. A few factors which need to be set are that I’m also a smoker and I know this will/can cause mouth cancer but I enjoy smoking and am not looking to quit any time soon. Is there any advice you can give me.

I Can’t Bring Myself To Get Into The Habit Of Brushing. Will My Teeth Fall Out Before I’m 21?
Tuesday, September 30th, 2014I Have Had A Discoloured Bridge For The Past 20 Years. Is There Anyway To Whiten This To Match The Shade Of My Other Teeth?
Tuesday, September 30th, 2014Hi Marcus, I have a bridge which is over 20 years old and it has never been as white as my natural teeth. I cannot afford to have a new one made at this time. Is there any way in which I could get it whitened as it is making me very depressed as it looks awful. Also, my dentist told me it would be a lot of work to go through to have a new bridge, which scares me. It would be great if there was some way of just whitening it. Please let me know if there a cosmetic procedure I could have without loads of pain. Thank you.
I’m 16 Years Old, Would This Be Too Young To Get A Dental Implant?
Monday, September 29th, 2014 Hello. My front tooth is crooked. It came out twisted just about 180 degrees turned. I have got braces on and was told that the root was a claw shape and it was risky to turn it. The orthodontist said that they were instead, going to have a crown put on it.
After some research on what a crown is a few months later, I have decided that I don’t want my tooth to be ground down. I have called my orthodontist to ask about changing the procedure. They set up a meeting in 20 days to talk to them about the procedure.
The other front tooth is healthy and I would much rather have a real front tooth than a crown. The front tooth is the first part people see of your smile and I don’t want issues like it being a different shade to the other teeth, or the crown falling off. I know they can last a lifetime but so can a real tooth.
I am also only 16 years old and I thought that my teeth would last me my whole life. I think I am too young to be getting a fake tooth.
What should I ask/tell my orthodontist to help me in this situation? Is a crown the only way to go? Thanks.
I Have Gaps Caused By Gum Disease. Please Could You Advise Me On What I Could Do To Fill These Gaps?
Friday, September 26th, 2014 Hello Dr Gambroudes. I have two gaps in my teeth, one gap is on the bottom row and one gap is on the top row of teeth.
They aren’t that large and I do have adjacent teeth. Both gaps are close to the gum so you can see through it a bit and it makes me very nervous talking to people.
Also they are not from a missing tooth it was from gum disease. I had that which caused pockets to appear and then gaps. Please could you advise me on what I could do to fill the gaps?
The Enamel On My Friends Teeth Has Come Off After Taking Tablets. What Can Be Done To Help Her?
Thursday, September 25th, 2014Hello Dr Gambroudes. I have a friend who because she has taken tablets the enamel on her teeth has all come off and her confidence has totally gone with it. She won’t go out and this is the reason as she doesn’t want anyone to see her. She is not working and claims benefits so really can’t afford much. Can you help and advise me please as to where to go from here to help her? I hope you can offer your advice. Many thanks.
I Had My Veneers Filed Down But Now They Are Too Small. Would Cosmetic Bonding Help In This Case?
Thursday, September 25th, 2014Hi there Dr Gambroudes, I recently got composite veneers, 8 top and 8 bottom. However when I first saw them I thought they were two long and bulky so I asked to get them shaved down a bit. But now that I’ve had them I feel as if they are too short as I have quite big lips and unless I am smiling really big you can’t really notice that I have even had my teeth done. I’m regretting my decision to have them shaved down. Is there anyway I can go back and add more composite bonding to make them a tiny bit longer in length? Or what are my other options? I’m really unhappy and am sad everytime I look at them. Kind regards.
I Have A Missing Front Tooth And The Partial Denture Makes Me Ill. How Can I Afford A Dental Implant?
Wednesday, September 24th, 2014Hello Marcus. I have lost a front tooth and I’m only in my twenties. I can’t go out any more or see anyone apart from family. My dentist gave me a denture on a plate but there’s no way I can have it in. I’m sick as soon as it’s in my mouth. I’m a single mum with 2 children and I’m getting worse everyday. I was very bubbly and out going and working with loads of friends but now I’m a different person all because of one tooth. My dentist doesn’t provide implants or anything like that and I have got a family wedding coming up but I’m not going because of this. I can’t pay for an implant weekly because I can’t get credit anywhere. What should I do?
I Have A Two Teeth Growing At The Top Of My Gum And I Think My Teeth Have Moved. Is This Possible?
Wednesday, September 24th, 2014 Hi Dr Marcus, I am 12 years old and I think my teeth went forward or back as when I close them and put my teeth down it feels strange.
Like there is a tooth in the way. I also have 2 teeth growing on top of the gum. When I close my mouth the teeth on the left it feels like one is in the way. Please help me. How do I know if my teeth came forward and how do I get them to look like they are on my top left next to the top big teeth – the one on the left of the big tooth is behind the bottom left teeth? Is this right? Thank you.
