I Don’t Want To Be Tormented With Wearing Fixed Braces. Are There Any Alternatives?

Tuesday, October 21st, 2014
Q.

Hello,

I’m looking for treatment on my upper teeth, I have an overbite and front two teeth protruding. I was supposed to have braces when I was younger but for some reason my parents did not go through with it. I have looked up ways online and found a few sites that speak of pulling them out and grafting them back into place literally in one session but I can only find that sort of cosmetic dentistry being done in the states. My front two teeth are quite large to be honest and was wondering if its possible to have them removed and two veneers put in there place? I’m not worried about the cost I’m just worried about having to wear braces as I work on a building site and went through enough torment at school.

I’ve Had Crohn’s Disease Since The Age Of 18 And My Teeth Are Becoming Weaker. Which Treatments Should I Consider Before My Wedding?

Tuesday, October 21st, 2014
Q.

Dear Sir, I was diagnosed with CD at the age of 18 and prior to this, had fissure sealant treatment and had not had a single filling. My teeth were regularly checked and in good condition, strong and white.

Over the years, my teeth have become visibly more yellow, I have had fillings and the enamel has eroded and exposed the very unsightly dentine on many of my teeth. Some of them have uneven biting edges and are sharp. Until this year, my front teeth remained fairly unaffected, but now I’m getting marks on them, between them and they are getting thinned and more sensitive.

I’m getting married next year and am determined to have a better smile than I currently do. I bit the bullet and made an appointment to visit a local dentist earlier this year, who suggested using bonding to just even out the edges of my teeth, but mentioned this would be to the colour that my teeth are currently, which I’m very unhappy with.

My CD is now stable and I am mainly healthy, but hate the fact that my teeth continue to get worse – possible down to stomach acid? Do you have a suggestion as to what treatments may work to help me finally get the smile I dream of? Thank you in advance for reading and I look forward to receiving your response.

Kindest regards.

I Want To Have Braces To Close The Gap In The Middle Of My Smile. Are Braces Safe?

Monday, October 20th, 2014
Q.

Hi Marcus. I need to have a tooth extracted and cosmetic bonding on my teeth as I’ve got a tooth under my gum. Is this safe to remove, as I am a little scared? I need to have this treatment done because I have a gap in the middle tooth and I want braces to close the gap, I was advised to this before I put braces on my teeth, so please could you advise me on what to do? Is it safe and what can I expect in terms of price when having such an operation.
Thank you.

Hello Dr Gambroudes. I am 34 and I’ve been left with no teeth. I am currently wearing a denture but it’s feels like my face is already making me a lot older than what I am I am so down but I have been to a few dentist and they said I would be a perfect fit for dental implants as I have good bone structure but I’m currently on benefits due to back pain is the procedure expensive for upper and lower implants. I Want To Have The Perfect, Hollywood Smile. I Am Unsure Of Which Treatment Can Achieve This. Can You Help?

Friday, October 17th, 2014
Q.

Hello, Dr. I would like your advice please. I have never been happy with my teeth. They’re not too bad, but they’re not too good either. I want to have perfect teeth, as in a Hollywood smile. I am willing to pay whatever the costs are, except that I don’t know what I am looking for exactly? Is it veneers? I am unsure which product/service I need in order to achieve the smile that I want. Please could you advise?

Would really appreciate your advice. Thank you.

My Front Tooth Fell Out Recently After Having Root Canal Treatment To Clear The Decay Out. Can I Get A Cut Price Deal To Sort This?

Friday, October 17th, 2014
Q.

Hi Marcus. My front tooth has recently come out, and about a year ago I went to the dental university in agony as half of it had broken due to decay inside my tooth, they performed a root canal on that tooth and over the months it got worse. The colour of the tooth was black. It was not attractive to look at at all. I work less than 13 hours a week and I am desperate for dental work but I just cannot afford to pay up to £3000, as I just don’t have that kind of money. I was wondering if dentists did a price plan with patients who are on a low wage/income as I cannot stay looking like this and I need my smile back.

My Front Incisors Are Too Long And Crooked. Please Suggest Any Fast And Effective Way To Improve This?

Thursday, October 16th, 2014
Q.

Hi, I am 23 years old and my front incisors are long and not straight. They seem to be coming out day by day which is making my lips look like they are getting fatter. These teeth are also a bit yellow, and stained from childhood.

I have had braces previously to straighten these teeth but now this problem has returned. There isn’t a gap between those teeth, the problem is basically length. Due to this, I don’t feel confident in showing my teeth when I smile.

Please suggest any fast and effective way to improve this.

After Years Of Braces Treatment, I Still Have A Deep Overbite. I’d Like Some Feedback On What My Options Are?

Thursday, October 16th, 2014
Q.

Hello there,

I’m a 24 years old with a deep overbite and since having my braces removed (After 4 years of multiple types of braces) 10 years ago, my teeth have since moved and some are actually in a worse position than they were before I had braces. My overbite was never corrected despite having braces that pulled my jaw forward uncomfortably for months.
I’m becoming increasingly self conscious about my profile and the appearance of my teeth, but these are just cosmetic issues. My jaw aches after eating tough foods like meat and it’s so uncomfortable to bite down properly and make my back teeth touch.

I’m not a full time students with incredibly limited funds but I feel like this is something I have to get corrected for my own health and wellbeing. I’d like some feedback on what my options are in terms of making my teeth and jaw feel more comfortable and natural to me. As I have very little money to spare, if I can afford it, I’d rather correct my overbite before my crooked and protruding teeth as it causes physical pain and discomfort.

Thank you.

My Tooth Broke And A Filling Came Out After Root Canal Treatment. What Should I Do?

Wednesday, October 15th, 2014
Q.

Hello Marcus. I have had two root canals done. Very shortly afterwards one tooth broke. And a short while after that, the second tooth lost its filling. When the filling fell out, it exposed a hole and in the hole was cotton. It was definitely in the hole beneath the filling. Why would that be? I have looked on the internet and cannot find any reason this would be. It seems that somehow the dentist forgot something and in may have made a mistake. Thank you.

My Partner Is Finding Her Top Denture Uncomfortable To Wear. Is There Such A Thing As A ‘Top Self Denture’?

Wednesday, October 15th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Gambroudes. My partner has top dentures (all except one canine tooth). She has a thing about them and it is making her very self conscious and they are making her very sensitive and unhappy. I think she would be better with a top set that are top of the market so to speak, is there such a thing? She is too young to be going through this, she does have her bottom teeth, but she had a gum problem which is why she has top dentures. Please can you help us? Regards.
