What Vaneers Should I Have?

Wednesday, January 9th, 2013
Q.

Hello, Doctor ritten Patel, I am currently living in australia and am thinking of going to Delhi to get porcelain veneers done. Can you give me any guidance you can give me about types of veneers. (Which ones are more successful and preferred by people ect..) So that i can look out for them when choosing the type of veneer and also if you know of any particular dentist you can recommend. Also how long do vaneers usually last. I have large gaps in my teeth and they are naturally a yellowy colour. I’m unhappy with the way they look and think that vaneers will improve my smile most effectively. I am  also concerned how much of the tooth enamel will be affected as well. Do you think vaneers are suitable for my condition and Are there cheaper alternatives?

Thank you Doctor, I look forward to reading your response.

Can I Get Implants On The NHS?

Monday, January 7th, 2013
Q.

Hello Doctor,
top right jaw I had a large mola removed in Dec, I’ve no longer any top corner top teeth im finding it hard to eat on this side of my mouth because I have nothing to bite my food with, and I’m having to chew on my left side, today I chatted with my dentist about an implant to replace the large tooth I lost, he siad it would cost £1000-£2000 for a single implant. Do you think that any NHS teaching hospitals would be able to do it cheaper as i’m not working at the moment and so cannot really afford to pay that amount of money. My dentist said the NHS wouldnt pay for my implant, just wondered if there was anything I could do to help myself, as im finding it hard to eat normaly,
thanks, I look forward to hearing your response

Can My Daughter Get Braces On The NHS If She Is Over 18?

Monday, January 7th, 2013
Q.

Hello Doctor, My daughter is born 1993 and desperately needs to have braces fitted. She is bullied at school for her bad teeth and it is affecting her badly. She is currently in sixth form and studying her A levels, which is stressful enough as it is without the added stress of her anxiety over the appearance of her teeth which is only worsened by the bullying. She fears if her teeth aren’t fixed soon then the bullying will continue at university and for the rest of her life.  I had once tried to get her the dates for braces which I did get but then I moved to a different place and I could not attend the appointment.
Please advise me! Do you think, her being in full time education still and her having severely crooked teeth,if she could get an exception from NHS .
I am a single parent and cannot afford to buy expensive braces.  Please guide Many Thanks, I look forward to hearing your response.
