How much for a cap replacement and a dental implant?
Tuesday, February 8th, 2011I knocked my front left tooth out about 9 years ago and have had various insufficient replacements since. During the accident I also chipped the other front tooth which has been capped and supports the left front fake tooth. I am now looking to have the cap removed and an implant to be inserted with a new cap. Basically what would you quote for a cap removal on the front right tooth, a 1 tooth implant on the left and a replacement cap for the right?

Is there any way I could not have my wisdom teeth extracted?
Tuesday, February 8th, 2011I’m asking this question as I’m concerned about one of my wisdom teeth. I’m aware they’re slightly impacted, not much on that note though. Though the main concern is the fact that my gums seem to be getting in the way and are getting chewed upon by the wisdom teeth. I’m simply wondering, is this perhaps due to the gum swelling up due to the recent erruption of the wisdom teeth or is it just my teeth being too crowded.
The easy option would be having the wisdom tooth pulled more than likely, but that seems a bit drastic for something that might just be swollen gums or an infection.
Thanks in advance for any reply,
Sean Swinzly.
I have an overbite and a bridge, what are my options for correcting this?
Tuesday, February 8th, 2011Dear Dr. Moore,
I am researching my options, learning more about my circumstances and would very much appreciate you opinion on my teeth and underbite.
I am 43 years old and have reluctantly tolerated my underbite all my life. For various reasons I was advised not to have orthodontic treatment in my teens. It was a choice I didn’t make but one I very much regret. My teeth are small, badly formed with many missing teeth. To rectify this I have 3 bridges which incorporate most of my upper jaw. (One is 25 years old and is 6 teeth long, but has stood the test of time!). The teeth on my bottom jaw are tiny (still milk?, unsure), with many gaps and missing teeth. My front teeth touch together to smile but to chew and, for my back teeth to meet, my lower jaw has to protrude to the point where all the bottom teeth overlap the top teeth and the edge of my bottom teeth rubs aginst my upper lip. I dream of a nice smile with no underbite. A few questions you may be able to help me with if possible. Am I too old to have anything done? Would indeed anything be possible considering my upper jaw is mainly bridges? What treatment would be available to me? What are the likely costs? I understand that only after examination an accurate indication can be given, but a rough idea would perhaps try and help me reach the decision as to whether this is a route I want to pursue once and for all. Or do I just carry on being me (which isn’t too bad) with an underbite but reluctant to smile?
Many thanks
Kind regards
Marina
Can I get free treatment from a dental school?
Tuesday, February 8th, 2011Hello Dr.Moore,
I had fixed braces as a teenager, it did not completely close all gaps, plus my bottom front teeth moved and I still have an overbite. I would like to know if there is anyway i could get free treatment from a Dentistry school as a guinea pig for trainee dentists. I am so envious of friends and have such a complex with my teeth it can makes me feel insecure. Being a full time student i won’t be able to afford the orthodontistry just yet.
