Hello Dr Moore, I hope you can help me out. I have one upper canine missing, I would like to know how much would it cost me to fill the gap?
I don’t like the bridge options available because I don’t want the dentist to file the tooth down next to it. Could you please tell me about any other options available and the prices/costs available? It really bugs me as it’s really noticeable whenever I try to smile. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

I Currently Have A Set Of Plastic Dentures Which I’d Like Replaced. I’m Unaware Of What Is Available. Could You Tell Me How Much It Would Cost?
Tuesday, June 24th, 2014Hello Dr Moore,
I have a set of 3 false teeth at the front of my mouth (top set). And also I have one to the left side and one at the very back on the right side. I currently have the standard dentures with all the plastic which I really hate and I’d like to have this replaced with something else but unsure of what is available. What would you recommend and also what sort of cost would I be looking at if I had them replaced with something else? Thank you for your time and helpful advice in advance.
What Treatment Would I Need To Move My Teeth Into The Correct Position?
Monday, June 23rd, 2014Hello Dr Moore. I don’t like the fact that I have a gap between three of my teeth at the bottom. I spoke to a friend who’s a dentist and they said I would need to move a big tooth at the back plus two smaller ones to the left of the front teeth. Is it possible to get an approximate cost or an idea of what possible treatments I would need to consider? Thank you for your time and expertise. I look forward to your response.
Dental Implants Are Financially Out Of My Reach. Is There Any Way I Can Get My Smile Back?
Friday, June 20th, 2014I Am 45 years of age and I lost a lot of my teeth through neglect. So I decided to have a mass extraction of about 18 teeth in one go under general anaesthetic through the NHS. I was then given a set of dentures from the NHS. The only time I wear them is when I go to the supermarket twice a week. I have spoken to my dentist about implants but they are financially out of my reach. I have read about your teaching position with the Royal College of Surgeons and I was just wondering if you are looking for potential patients to demonstrate your technique? Thank you.
Is It Fair That My Dentist Can Charge An Extra £300 For Each Crowns Lab Fee?
Friday, June 20th, 2014 Hello Dr Moore. I have a dental discount plan which covers dental services at a discounted price. I recently had six crowns placed (lower front, 22-27).
Standard price quoted was £1,100 and discounted price was £428.
However my dentist charged me an additional lab fee of £300 for each crown. Is this correct? I heard that crowns include lab fees.
My dentist charged me a “lab fee” in addition to the cost of the crown. I thought the cost of the crown would include lab fees associated with the crown. Any information on this would be very helpful as I currently don’t know where to turn. Thank you.
I Had Implants Fitted In Hungary But One Didn’t Take. Should I Demand That They Refit It?
Thursday, June 19th, 2014Hello Dr Moore. I had six dental implants in total fitted which was completed in Budapest. Unfortunately one did not take. I had to go back to get it sorted when I returned to Budapest to have crown fittings. I have just been fitted with a zirconium crown for that implant but the implant is visible. The dentist whom did the crown has suggested waiting a month then he will fill the gap with a pink porcelain. What’s your opinion on this? Should I demand a refit or is this acceptable?
I Am In The Final Few Weeks Of Braces Treatment But My Orthodontist Keeps Putting It Back. What Should I Do?
Wednesday, June 18th, 2014Hello Dr Moore. I am 61 and have had braces for 3 years following periodontal treatment. My NHS orthodontist sees me every 8 to 10 weeks. My teeth are getting straight and she is closing the gaps. She is closing the gaps but I seem to be going round in circles. After a few weeks it looks like the teeth are finally in place but then other teeth move which shouldn’t. I also think that my appointments are too long in between. Each time I go I am told that in my next visit they will be removed and it’s getting frustrating now. What should I do?
My Gums Are Shrinking Due To An Inherited Condition. Is There Any Treatment That Can Enhance The Look Of My Teeth?
Friday, June 13th, 2014 Hello Dr Moore. Is there any treatment you know of that can enhance the look of your teeth if you have gum disease? My gums are shrinking due to an inherited condition. My teeth look okay but as time goes by it’s starting to look like there are holes between my teeth at the top near to the gum. I am 53 and have a huge fear of false dentures.
I have never smoked but I drink socially.
I clean my teeth twice a day
I visit a NHS dentist regularly for scaling and polishing. I would just like to my teeth to look healthy. Thanks.
I Have Been Told That I Need A Specialist For My Curved Roots. Could My Regular Dentist Do This Instead?
Thursday, June 12th, 2014My Tooth Has Become Slanted Since I Stopped Wearing My Retainer. Is There Any Way To Have This Fixed?
Wednesday, June 11th, 2014 Hello Dr Moore. I’m looking to have my teeth tidied up. My big front tooth has become slanted over the years from not wearing a retainer once my braces were removed. Is there any way I can have this fixed without the long term hassle of fixed braces? My top teeth also look as though they could and should be filed down, as they appear to look jagged.
If all of this can can be achieved, would you be able to estimate how much this would cost? Thank you for taking the time to listen to my enquiry.
