Can you use Invisalign for top teeth and metal braces for bottom teeth, or would you not advise this?

Q. Hi, my daughter 17 has just been told she needs braces for her teeth and can have NHS metal braces free. The bottom requires a tooth extraction because of overcrowding but the top is more minor. She is happy to have a metal brace on the bottom but very unhappy about the top as it will be very visible and she plans to start a teaching course next year. Is it possible to have invisalign on the top only (which I could just afford to pay for) and metal on the bottom or would you not recommend this?,
A. It is possible but i would advise to stick to one or the other. If you are considering invisalign braces most dentist charge the same for top and bottom. I use charge around £2800.00 for both upper and lower or I can offer a discount if it paid up front.
