Can scleroderma lead to problems in the future?
Q.
Hello Doctor Andrew Moore. Please can you assist with my question as soon as possible, Can scleroderma lead to problems in the freezing of the area needed to be frozen for a tooth extraction, to give you a relevant example: if it makes the injection site i.e. the gums thicker or harder or not able to spread the freezing material properly, My mother has been given a referral to an oral surgeon for the extraction of two teeth in hospital under “local” I am greatly concerned that she may experience a lot of pain during the procedure because the freezing process is not properly distributed. I would be thankful if you can get back to me on this.

Hello and thank you for your question. In answer it doesn’t normally make a difference, but its worth talking to the surgeon first in order for them to be able to know what is going on. Hope that is of some assistance for your problem.
