Can my tooth be pushed back without the need for braces?
Q. I have one tooth that is very very very slightly pushed back. I am positive it is from being elbowed in the mouth about a month ago during basketball practice. Is there any way it can be pushed back into place without braces? As in could it be fixed just like having wisdoms taken out, which is maybe being put out and them fixing it? I would appreciate any advice. I am 17 years old by the way. I know I shouldnt worry about it much but I see all my friends with perfect teeth. I also have a small gap between my two front teeth but I will leave that up to my dentist to decide on. My pushed back tooth also aches sometimes. Thank you so much.,
A. Instead of having fixed braces- as it isn’t very severe, you could choose to have some clear aligners made. These aligners look like a little clear thing that you put over your teeth- you may need to wear one for a couple of weeks and another after that. THis all depends on the severity of the position of the tooth. When your tooth moves back into position, then you will need to wear a retainer afterwards to stop it from moving again. Having your wisdom teteh taken out isn’t something that I would recommend unless they are causing you problems- as the extractions themselves could be traumatic for you. I suggest that you ask your dentist to see what can be done. Good Luck.
