Can My Teeth Be Restored With Cosmetic Work Rather Than Being Extracted?
Q.
I went to my dentist this week as I have 2 decayed upper left 7&8, a missing lower left 3 and missing up left 4. My front right 1 has a distal chip right down the edge. I am very embarrassed of my teeth an am getting married in August. I asked my dentist if she could do me some veneers or crowns or bridges and all she said she would do is extract I really don’t want this.i am a NHS patient and don’t know where to turn now. I don’t want to lose any more
teeth. She wouldn’t even offer me composite fillings for my front teeth she just tried to push dentures and I do not want them. Can you suggest anything I can do? I’m so upset.

It might be worth getting a 2nd opinion as, although cosmetic work such as veneers aren’t always available on the NHS you should be able to get white fillings done on front teeth. The only thing I can think is she doesn’t feel you’re suitable for restorative work, so call around to see if you can get another view on your problems.
