Can my crooked tooth be fixed with braces?

Q.
Hi I wore a brace when I was younger but my bottom teeth have crossed at the front. I wore a retainer on my top set off teeth but not my bottom. Sometimes I feel conscious when I smile because this one tooth can be seen. I would like to ask if there is a solution to my problem although I don’t think I could afford to pay for it at the moment so I would just like to speak to someone in advance. I would probably have a brace again or possibly consider the 6 month smile option, would this solution offer a permanent improvement or would it make my teeth worse , I really need some closure on this situation as the longer I wait the worse it becomes , Thanks

Dear Enquirer,

The type of brace required and how long it takes to correct the smile depends on how severe the crowding is…you will need a thorough assessment to point you in the right direction. Any braces treatment will require long term retention.

The crowding is not that bad. when I had a brace in my teens I had two teeth out from my top set and non from my bottom. I also believe my wisdom teeth are coming through on the bottom causing the crowding. If I was to have a brace would I benefit from having teeth out from the bottom to prevent them from crossing in the future. The only teeth that are crossed are the front two, at the bottom, one tooth is being pushed behind slightly. But when I smile I am conscious that the top of the tooth can be seen- which it can, because the tooth has been pushed up slightly, which I feel looks stupid because that is the only tooth that can be seen. how much would a brace on the bottom cost? and would I be able to have one just on the bottom and not the top. Hi, I’m considering getting a slightly wonky front tooth straightened before my wedding in 2 months’ time. Is this timescale realistic, and what kindof price would I be looking at? What’s involved? Thanks!
