Can I have teeth extracted and replaced with implants instead of root canal?

Q.
I have chronic dental pain in all of my molars (lower and upper) bilaterally. I do have several fillings which will probably need to be replaced and seem to be headed towards root canals in all of these teeth. I also have 2 root canals that are both failing and also very painful so I am reluctant to have more root canal therapy on the other teeth as it seems pointless having them done when they will most likely fail like the other two. I’ve been seen by a professor at a specialist dental hospital and they said my failing root canals would be best replaced by an implant. Is it possible to have most of my molars and two premolars extracted and the teeth replaced with implants instead? How much would this be likely to cost?
A.
Yes this is an option especially if the prognosis of the teeth is doubtful. I’d need to see you for an accurate quote as I’m not sure how many implants you’ll need. As a guide though, a 3 tooth bridge on 2 implants will cost around £4000. Call my clinic on 08443 87 87 88 if you’d like me to take a look for you.
