Can I have implants to the teeth taken out 25 years ago?

Q. I am thinking about getting 2 dental implants at the upper rear left hand side of my mouth ,would there be a problem as the 2 teeth were extracted 25 years ago during pregnancy, all my remaining teeth are excellent,i have only i filling which was done during preg, as well 25 years ago. Thank you.

A. When teeth are extracted the jaw bone remodels , generally shrinking, and the airspaces (sinuses) beside the nose expand. There is great variation in this process so a clinical examination and probably Xrays +/_ a 3D jaw scan are needed. There is however no reason in principle why implants are not appropriate.Robcall 0121 643 0610 for details of our free initial consultations.
