Can I Get Veneers On The NHS As My Teeth Get Me Down And I Don’t Smile A Lot?

Q.
Hi Andrew. My teeth are slack, some are broken and others have holes in them. Can I get veneers on the NHS as it gets me down and I don’t smile a lot? Whenever I eat I get pain in my teeth and I have dentures, do I need my own teeth to have veneers? All of my bottom teeth are my own and a few of the ones on the top set. Most are either rotten decaying or slack, I do feel as though it would boost my confidence greatly and also my self esteem. Any advice you can offer me would be greatly received. Thanks.

Hello and thank you for your enquiry. I’m sorry but I don’t think you’ll get cosmetic work done on the NHS apart from white fillings on the front teeth. Go to your usual NHS dentist and see what he says, they may be able to suggest something that works for you. Alternatively you could try to find a local clinic which has some kind of payment plan available to spread the cost of treatment. I wish you the best of luck, Dr Andrew Moore.
