Can I Get a Crown on the NHS?

Q.
I am over 65 years old and have to have a crown replaced because when it was originally put in 10 years ago, apparently it was put on the wrong way around by the dentist. My current dentist tells me now it will cost me £500.00 to replace this tooth. The tooth has given me aggravation for all these years but I thought that it was either because that was the fit or it would settle down, but I’ve not been able to chew properly for years. What would you advise? Do you think I can get this done on the national health service? Any advice would be helpful.
A.
Hi, thank you for getting in touch. As a rule crowns are available on the NHS but the type of crown will vary, maybe ask you current dentist first or seek out a 2nd opinion from an NHS dentist. Regards, Andrew.
