As A Student I Have Limited Funds But My Teeth Are Causing Confidence Issues, Am I Entitled To Cheap Treatment?

Q.
Hi
I was wondering whether or not there are any discounted prices available for students/young adults that are not earning a great amount? I have been needing to fix my teeth for years now, however I haven’t been able to afford it. I have extremely low self esteem due to my teeth, it greatly affects my social life as I have no confidence to talk in front of new people, due to my crooked teeth. Fixing my teeth is a necessity, though I have no way to pay such a great amount of money. Would you kindly suggest any routes I can possibly take, without needing to pay such huge sums of money? Thank you.
A.
As a student you may be entitled to discounted or free treatment. if you are over the age of 19 and in full time education, you need to obtain a form HC1, this needs to be filled out and sent in the envelope that comes with the form. They award free treatment in some cases, but they also may discount your treatment greatly.

If you are in receipt of certain benefits you are also entitled to some NHS free treatment, it is a very long list so I suggest you consult an NHS website to see if you qualify.

The last option is to see your dentist. If your case if considered large enough, they may refer you to a hospital where the treatment may be done for free.

I hope this helps.
