Are there any alternatives to metal attachments?

Q. my son is 15 and requires treatment to correct his over bite and align his top teeth. He plays trumpet and his music tutor recommended he asks for a removable braces so treatment would not affect his standard of playing. We spoke with his orthordontist and she said he could have a removable brace to sort top teeth but a fixed brace will be required to correct bite on bottom set. Although he is happy to proceed with this treatment my son wondered if there is an alternative to the metal attachments even if just for 4 of his front lower teeth to use when attaching brace to avoid riping his lip/gums when pressing the trumpet mouthpiece to his lips when playing. He only thought of this question after our last consultation.,
A. Orthodontic positioners such as clearstep or invisalign might solve this problem. Expect private fees £2,500 to £4000, but ask your orthodontist for details.
