Am I Too Old For Implants?

Q.
Hello there, I wondered if you could help me with my problem. I am a sixty-one year old woman, and have had two large gaps on either side of my lower jaw since I was a child. I have experimented with dentures in the past, but I found them to be an inconvenience to me. Would you say I was too old for dental implants, and are my gums too thin to have implants fitted? A big problem I have is that I find that I struggle when it comes to chewing food, and have always wanted to have my teeth sorted out professionally. I do not have many teeth, and I would really like to have a full set of working ones! Thank you.

Hi there. No, I don’t think you are too old for implants. I once placed implants in someone who was over 80 years of age. This procedure took place over 7 years ago and they are still doing well now. Obviously I would need to see you to give you some more options. Thank you for your question.
