A root canal treatment was done on my premolar and now i am in intolerable plain plz help
Q. Hi, am a clinical pathologist from Egypt .A root canal ttt was done for my upper right premolar tooth.Gutta percha is already in..I asked my dotor to finish rapidly as I am busy,,The whole work on my tooth was done in 4 days.(2 days ago)..He took impression &told me to come for a try in within 4 days..I am now in a severe agonizing intolerable pain.I took Kataflem50 every 6 hrs,Alphintern every 12 hrs & Flagyl with no improvement of pain.PLEASE,tell me what to take & do not tell me to visit him again as he told me it will relieve in a few days & I cannot tolerate..PLEASE HELP ME..thank you.. yours
A. Hi Sometimes it is best to wait a while before finishing a root canal treatment as infection can be trapped under the root filling causing severe discomfort. You may need either the tooth or rot filling removed as soon as possible.
Hi,Dr.Andrew..I am greatly appreciated & I do thank you for your advice.I am now not in pain .I took lots of analgesics coz pain was that severe & I am busy that I cannot remove the filling & come back again for refilling..But,you made me worried..does it mean the root canal ttt may fail as I was in a hurry ? please reassure me..
