A Dentist Has Previously Damaged A Tooth And Now It’s Discoloured. Would A Veneer Work?

Q.
Hello, my right front tooth is visibly darker then left one. It has been badly damaged by dentist 7 years ago (not in the UK) and changed colour. It has been re-done few times, but I never did get the perfect result. Both the shape and colour is different and it is thicker than my left tooth.
Is it possible to make it the same as left front tooth with a porcelain veneer?
I can attach picture of it if needed? Thank you.
A.
Hi. Please send your picture here:

A veneer may be possible to make it look a match for the other one. Have you had a root canal treatment? This can complicate matters and sometimes an ‘internal’ bleaching of your tooth is required before the veneer is done.

This can be a very challenging and difficult treatment to get just right so for the best results seek treatment from a very experienced and very high quality cosmetic dentist, who can show you examples of cases similar to yours that they have treated successfully

Regards, Mark.

Dear Mark,

Thank you very much for your answer.

Please, let me tell you my story. I broke a corner of right front tooth when I was a child, it was very unnoticeable. Then when I was 22 I decided to repair it. I went to a private dentist. Who told me that if she will put filling on the corner it will come off, so she advised me another way of repairing it. She said it will be a proper repair. Unfortunately, I trusted her. She removed nearly half of visible part of my tooth, then made a hole in the root canal and put metal peg in it and then created a new tooth. It was thicker than the other one and after few weeks it got darker. I came back and ask her to do anything about it, but she only said it changed colour because it dead now. Later it had been redone by other dentist, peg had been removed but it never been the same as my left tooth. Since then I do not have picture of myself with a full smile.

I so much want to have it done with Harley Street Dental Clinic, but your receptionist said that you do not deal with single tooth repair unfortunately.

I am totally agree that this work should be done with by very experienced and very high quality cosmetic dentist. Would you be so kind as to advise me anyone who are able to do this for me, please?

Is there are any chance to have it done with you in Harley Street Dental Clinic?

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Kind regards,
Ol
