Woman Has Temporary Veneers Placed Before His License Suspension

A woman from Connecticut has claimed to be beyond disappointed and thousands of dollars down after her dentist got his license suspended.

Just over a month ago, the dental license of Dr Wilford Samson was temporarily suspended by state health officials.

He ran four offices up until recently, two of which were recently closed in Bristol and Hartford.

This suspension is unrelated to the veneers patient, Wendy, who had temporary veneers placed by Samson in late August. The veneers cost her thousands of dollars, but she was promised permanent ones in the near future.

Wendy said the treatment was important to her and when she left Samson’s office, she cried over the appearance of the temporary veneers.

Later this week, Wendy is traveling to London to visit her daughter, part of the reason she wanted veneers fitted. However, she has yet to receive her permanent veneers.

On Monday, she visited another dentist in Enfield who fitted new temporary veneers. Wendy is happy with these, but said she will not forget her bad experience in Samson’s Hazard Avenue practice.

Wendy said that each time she tried to book a follow up appointment with Samson, excuses were made.

She repeatedly called the dental office and was told different things each time. Then she found out his license was suspended and was concerned that she’d spent $6,000 on treatment.

Samson’s license has reportedly been suspended for failing to sterilise a number of instruments adequately in his Old Saybrook and Hartford (now closed) locations. He is also charged with storing and moving instruments in unsterilised locations and failing to maintain adequate hand hygiene, as well as failing to document nearly 24 prescriptions in a patient’s record and inaccurately showing compliance with mandatory continual education requirements.
